yogurt-digest-nutrientsApart from the above evidence on the nutrient contribution of yogurt due to its inherent nature, subjects that consumed yogurt had a higher Dietary Guidelines Adherence Index (DGAI), which is used to assess overall diet quality. Yogurt consumers had higher potassium intakes and were less likely to have inadequate intakes (based on Dietary Reference Intake) of several vitamins, including vitamins B2 and B12, calcium, magnesium, and zinc (2).
